GOOD NEWS, SHEERIOS.

It has been announced that Ed Sheeran will play Croke Park this summer.

The singer spoke to 2fm’s Ryan Tubridy this morning (live from Estonia, no less) and confirmed that he will play Croke Park on July 24th.

Sheeran said that he was thrilled to play the iconic venue.

I’ve never been to Croke Park before. I’ve heard the most amazing things about it. I never expected to play there, because they only do about three concerts a year.

The singer stated that the Croke Park gig will be his final gig “for a year” as he prepares to write and record his next album.

The singer is, of course, no stranger to our shores having recently performed an intimate gig at Whelan’s and four dates in Dublin’s 3Arena last October.

Tickets for the Croke Park gig go on sale February 26th.
